Asma Abdulkadir Mohamed is an education specialist and social activist with years of experience in establishing a functional planning, goal setting, and policy-related matters and M&E system for all education sub-sectors. She was heading the policy and planning department for six years, and a lot of improvements have been made during this time of her guidance and direction. She was leading all planning stages with all education stakeholders (Ministries/Government officials, Partners, Headteachers, Teachers, Parents, Community Education committee, Students and etc). Asma had been involved in planning and setting of all the policies, strategies, legal frameworks, and all the projects funded by the donors e.g (the development of ESSP, which was supported by SCI and funded by GPE) in education sectors in Puntland, she manages projects which their life was three years and some are less, from their first stages of planning until the end of evaluating and closing the project. She coordinated the preparation of a huge meeting (Joint Review Education Sector JRES) which was prepared, planned, and implemented from Oct to April 2015 and 2016 which was it’s first-time of its kind, the Aim of this review was to review the previous year of whole education sector in Puntland and plan for the next year, it was a big achievement for Somalia which helped to increase the support of the donors
and government allocations.
