Signs of maturity – how mature are you, Somali sisters?

As a Somali woman who is always looking for boosters of upward growth, I must say that can very much relate to these signs of upward growth and maturity that I have collected.

Which of these boosters of maturity  do you relate to yourself? How conscious are you about your own personal upward growth process?

 

  1. Maturity is when you stop trying to change people and instead focus on changing yourself.
  2. Maturity is when somebody hurts you and you try to understand their situation instead of trying to hurt them back.
  3. Maturity is when you accept people for who they are.
  4. Maturity is when you understand that everyone is right in their own perspective.
  5. Maturity is when you realize that nothing is more important in this world than you and your family.
  6. Maturity is when you understand that whatever you do, you do for your own peace.
  7. Maturity is when you stop proving to the world how intelligent you are.
  8. Maturity is when you focus on positives in people.
  9. Maturity is when you do not seek approval from others.
  10. Maturity is when you stop comparing yourself to others.
  11. Maturity is when you are at peace with yourself.
  12. Maturity is when you can differentiate between Need and Want, and you can let go of your wants.
  13. Maturity is when you stop attaching Happiness to material things.
  14. Maturity is when you learn to Let go, accept the situations and move on.
  15. Maturity is when you don\’t react to the behaviour of insane people.
  16. Maturity is when you are able to drop expectations from a relationship and give for the sake of giving.
  17. Maturity is when you are able to walk away from people and situations that threaten your peace of mind, self-respect, value, morals or self-worth.
  18. Maturity is when you have a lot to say, but you choose to remain silent in front of fools.
